INTRAOCULER LENS IMPLANTATION IN POSTERIOR CAPSULE RUPTURE AND VITREOUS LOSS
Between January 1989 and July 1991 extracapsular cataract extraction and intraocular lens implantation procedure were performed
on 1178 eyes, posterior capsule rupture rate was found to be 10.35% and vitreous loss was 7.5% Mean follow up period
was 14.3 months in posterior and anterior chamber implants. The postoperative complications that decrease visual acuity were
more common In the anterior chamber implant group than the posterior chamber implant group. When the causes that decrease
vision in the preoperative period were excluded. 77% of eyes had a final visual acuity of 0.5 or better.Keywords: Extracapsular oataract extraction. Intraocular lens implantation, Posterior capsule rupture. Vitreous loss
