OUR EARLY RESULTS WITH HIGH GAS PERMEABLE RIGID LENSES
High gas permeable rigid lenses were fitted to 166 eyes of 94 patients in our contact lens department, between
February 1991 and September 1991. Follow-up mean value of 127 eyes of 73 patients were 11.8 (±9.8) weeks. The
relationships between age, sex, wearing period and the complications during follow-up were evaluated. As a result of our
73 patients study, we have seen deposit infiltration in 15 patients (%20.6), giant papillary conjonctivitis in 2 patients
(%2.8), infectious conjonctivitis in 5 patients (%6.9) and punctate epithelial erosions in 1 patient (% 1.4).Keywords: High gas-permeable rigid lenses, Complications of contact lenses
