LACRIMAL SAC ULTRASONOGRAPHY
Twenty patients with nasolacrimal duct obstruction were evaluated by A and B scan ultrasonography and 10 patients with normal
lacrimal system were evaluated as controls. Lacrimal sac, the upper part of nasolacrimal duct, lacrimal crests, the fluid in the sac
and in some cases the wall of the sac and the extension of the sac out of the crests in hydrops were evaluated. Lacrimal sac
ultrasonography is noninvasive, simple and inexpensive technique. It is more useful than dacriocystorhinostomy because of the
easy application in the early postoperative period, in the acute inflamation stage and in the children. It can be chosen in hydrops
