Tek Gözlü Katarakt Olgularında İntraoküler Lens İmplantasyonu

The results of Intraocular lens implantation in 51 monocular patients with cataract were studied. The causes of
decreased vision In the other eyes were retinal detachment, aphakic bullous keratopathy, vascularised corneal leucoma,
optic atrophy, enucleation, phtisis bulbi, disciform macular degeneration, aphakic glaucoma and ambliopia. The mean
age was 60.3. The mean follow-up period was 20.2 month. Postoperative complications were posterior synechia, iris
capture, posterior capsule opacification and wound dehiscence. Final corrected visual acuities were between 0.5 and 1.0
(mean 0.83). We concluded that IOL Implantation is not a contraindication for monocular patients with cataract.Keywords: Intraocular lens implantation, IOL, Monocular patients with cataract
