RETINAL VEIN OCCLUSION AND OPERATED RETINAL DETACHMENT CASES
To demanstrate ocular flow velocity, in normal, central retinal vein occlusion and operated retinal detachment cases
43 normal, 13 central retinal vein occlusion and 9 operated retinal detachment cases were included in the study. The
mean flow velocity in normal cases was found to be 21.16+1.41 cm/sn in ophthalmic artery, 7.25+0.72 cm/sn in central
retinal artery, 4.03+0.69 in central retinal vein. In normal cases mean ocular blood flow velocity appeared to be
decreased with age. In operated retinal detachment and central retinal vein occlusion cases central artery flov/ velocity
remained unchanged compared with fellow eye. In conclusion color doppler imaging seem to be encouraging noninvasive
technique to invetigate ocular and orbital hemodynamics. Keywords: Color Doppler Ultrasonography, Ocular Blood Flow Velocity, Operated
