The surgical results of 24 patients with congenital superior oblique (SO) palsy were reviewed. Inferior oblique
tenotomy (IO) was performed in 34 eyes of 23 cases. Six patients undergone SO tendon tuck and in 5 of them surgery
was performed in conjunction with IO tenotomy. In one patient IO tenotomy and recession of contiiateral inferior rectus
muscle was performed. It is concluded that in treatment of congenital SO palsy SO tendon tuck is necessary in selected
patients in addition to IO tenotomy and if performed with appropriate technique it is a safe procedure. Keywords: Superior oblique palsy, Inferior oblique tenotomy, Superior oblique tendon tuck
