Tectonic keratoplasty was performed on 11 cases (8 male, 3 female) with an age range of 24 day to 63 years, to
maintain the integrity of the globe were presented. Indications for tectonic keratoplasty were perforation due to corneal
abscess in 7 cases, perforation due to herpetic stromal keratitis in 3 cases and bacterial ophthalmia neonatorum in 1
case. Preoperative visual acuities varied from light perception to hand movements. After a mean follow up period of 9
months (3-17 months), postoperative visual acuities were between 0.1 and 0.4 in 3 cases, between hand movements
and counting fingers at 5 meters in 5 cases, light perception in 1 case. Graft edema has developed in 2 cases, graft
necrosis in 1 case, cataract in 2 cases phytysis in 2 cases in the postoperative period. In this study, tectonic keratoplasty
maintained the integrity of the eye in 81% and improved vision in 54% of the cases.Keywords: Herpes simplex keratitis, Corneal abscess, Tectonic keratoplasty
