Silikon Yağı Verilen Gözlerde Ekstrakapsüler Katarakt Ekstraksiyonu Ve Komplikasyonları

EXTRACAPSULAR CATARACT EXTRACTION AND COMPLICATIONS IN EYES FILLED WITH SILICONE OIL
Major goals of silicone cataract surgery are the removal of the cataractous lens and the prevention of intraoperative
loss of silicone oil. In this study we evaluated extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) and its results in 9 patients who
had silicone cataract. On 7 patients we peroformed only ECCE, on 1 patient we removed silicone oil with ECCE and
posterior chamber intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in the same operation, and on 1 patient we perfomed ECCE with
posterior chamber IOL in the same operation. We observed passage of silicone oil into the anterior chamber intraoperative^
in 3 (%33) patients. We noticed formation of posterior synechiae in 3 (%33) patients, formation of capsular
fibrosis In 5 (%56) patients, and keratopathy In 1 (%11) patient during the postoperative follow-up. During the mean
follow-up of 18.7 months retinal findings didn't change.Keywords: Silicone, cataract, extracapsular cataract extraction
