NEW ANTIFUNGAL AGENTS IN KERATOMYCOSIS THERAPY
Corneal fungal infections are generally secondary to a trauma. At the early stage it's difficult to know the causes of
the Infection. Clinical diagnosis of the keratomycosls is very important because laboratory techniques are not always
helpfull. With early diagnosis and appropriate treatment prognosis would be good.
In this article 12 keratomycosis cases that had been diagnosed and treated in Ophthalmology Clinic of İzmir Atatürk
State Hospital between Fabruary 1992 and October 1994 were presented. Mycotic infection was supported by direct
microscopic examination in 10 cases. New azole compounds were administered in the treatment and it was succesfull in
