30 eyes of 28 male patients ages between 20 and 24 were operated with sutureless scleral tunnel (SST) technique
by using lens aspiration. In all of patients, PMMA lenses with 5x6 mm optic zone implanted in to the posterior chamber.
In the postoperative period, patients were followed by vision with correction and without correction and also by corneal
keratometric values. In the early postoperative period, patients operated with SST technique have had less astigmatism
and high vision when compared to control group which were treated with ECCE.
As a conclusion, it was found that, SST technique is an ad~antageous technique to decrease postoperative
astigmatism and to get early vision rehabilitation of young patients without nucleus. In addition to these this technique
can be used in the absence of phacomulsification. Keywords: Young cataract, Scleral tunnel, Lens aspiration
