GRAM (-) BACTERIA AND HLA-B27 ASSOCIATION WITH ACUTE IRIDOCYCLITIS ETIOLOGY
A positive association between HLA B27 and acute anterior uveitis has been well known by ophthalmologists yet
also a susceptlon of Gram negative bacterial infection responsibilitiy as being the trigger in a peculiar immune reaction
has been proposed by researchers. 23 patients with acute anterior uveitis have been analyzed by tissue antigen typing
and Gram negative bacterial serology with a conclusive feeling of a positive association between the two parameters.Keywords: Acute anterior uveitis, HLA B27, Gram negative bacteria
