tropicamide was assessed In 62 patients. For each patient, one eye received a minidrop (mean volume 5.6 \xl) while the
fellow eye received the standart eye drop (mean volume 35.4 ul). No difference in mydriasis produced by drops of small
and normal volume could be detected (p>0.05). The minidrops of mydriatics that used in this study were effective, easy
to administer, and caused less patient discomfort (p<0.01). The risk of systemic side effect of topically applied drugs
could be reduced by modifying the tips of eyedroppers. Keywords: Phenylephrine, Cyclopentolate, Tropicamide, Minidrop, Mydriasis
