TOPICAL MITOMYCINE-C APPLICATION IN GLAUCOMA
In this study, we researched the efficacy and the safety of topical Mitomycine-C which was applied to 30
glaucoma cases during the trabeculectomy procedure. In the postoperative period the result determined as intraocular
pressure, fleb bulge,anterlor chamber depth and complications were compared with 30 glaucoma cases to which
topical Mitomycine-C was not applied through trabeculectomy.
We observed that intraocular pressure maintains at a significant lower level for prolonged period and better fleb
structure (cystio-avascular) in trabeculectomy with Mitomycine-C group.when we compare with trabeculectomy
without Mitomycine-C g roup. We also observed that anterior chamber depth was provided earlier and preserved more
effectively in trabeculectomy with Mitomycine-C group than trabeculectomy without Mitomycine-C group.Keywords: Gfaueoma.Trabecuiectomy, Mitomycine-C
