ANTERIOR CHAMBER Nd-YAG LASER APPLICATIONS
At Bursa State Hospital Eye Clinic, Nd-YAG laser was applied to 182 eyes of 158 patients with different anterior
segment pathlogy, many of them with posterior capsule opacification. Successful results were obtained from
treatments with posterior capsulotomy, posterior synechiolysis, iridotomy and pupillar membranectomy with fairly low
complications. The laser was not used on its own for trabeculectomy, anterior segment tumors and for anterior
synechiae. There was no complication causing sequel and low vision. The increase in intraocular pressure and
tyndalisation were easily controlled with acetasolamide. It was concluded that Nd-YAG laser was a perfect and easily
applicable intsrument both for the doctors and for a speedy recovery of the patients. We reached the conclusion that
it should be used in all clinics doing anterior segment surgery.Keywords: Nd-YAG laser, Anterior segment
