ELECTRON MICROSCOPY OF CAPSULE IN DIATHERMIC CAPSULOTOMY
It is well known that, best Intraocular lens implantation place Is the capsular bag. Continous circular capsulorhexls
(CCC) has a widespread acceptance as the most reliable method for opening anterior lens capsule to perform "in the
bag' IOL implantation. But this procedure Isnt easy In some forms of cataract so, diathermic capsubtomy is a good
alternative in such conditions. We examined the capsule specimens after diathermy by transmission electron microscopy
and found that diahermic capsubtomy was a reliable alternative to CCC.Keywords: Diathermic capsulotomy, Transmission electron microscopy, Cataract surgery, IOL implantation
