A patient with an optic nerve head melanocytoma has been followed up for 8 months to observe the alteration of the
pathology.
She was evaluated with fundus fbrescein angiography, ophthalmic ultrasound, automated perimetry and refractive
examination. All evidence supported a benign melanocytoma.
It was reported that visual toss and malignant transformation could occur in optic disc melanocytomas and "if the
lesion doesn't show any changes no treatment was adviced. For mis reason this case was controlled periodically without
treatment. During 8 months no tumor growth was seen. There is no visual toss but visual field loss occured. Keywords: Optic nerve, Melanocytoma, Malignant melanoma
