Seventhy-three premature babies were examined for refractive errors and ocular motility problems. The retinopathy
of prematurity in 12 babies had regressed spontaneously from grade 1-3 (regressed ROP) and the findings of those
babies were matched with the findings of the other prematures without ROP. The prevalence of regressed premature
retinopathy, myopia and anisometropia in premature babies were strongly associated with low birth weight and gestational
age of babies. In addition, the prevalance and the severity of myopia were highly correlated with either presence and
the severity of ROP. The importance of regular follow-up examinations for all premature infants, with particular attention
paid to those infants of low birth weight who suffered any degree of ROP, during the period of visual development In
order to prevent late visual dysfunction were emphasized. Keywords: Retinopathy of prematurity, Anisometropia, Strabismus, Refractive errors, Myopia
