Alkali Yanığı Olgularında Uyguladığımız Konjonktival Ve Libal Otogreft Transplantasyon Sonuçları

We performed conjunctival and/or limbal autograft transplantation to 6 patients between 25.8.1994 and 3.2.1995, 5 with alkaline injury and one with keratitis sequelae. Two of the patients with alkaline burn were in chronical period and the rest 3 were in subacute period. The patients have been observed for 6-12 months postoperatively, the results were satisfying both aesthetically and visually and vision improved in some patients and was acceptable in others. We notice that for the patients whom reepitelization did not take place during conventional therapy; and had fibrovascular membran which progressively covers center of the cornea; limbal autogreft transplantation is the best treatment.Keywords: Conjunctival transdifferentiation, Limbal autograft, Ocular surface disorders, Alkaline injuryTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 1997, 6:1-8
