Katarakt Hastalarında Eksfoliasyon Sıklığı Ve Cerrahi Sonuçları
Ertan SUNAY*, Ahmet ŞENTÜRK*, Nihal BORATAÇ*, Beşir ŞENDİLEK*, Hasan ERBİL*Dr. SSK Göztepe Hastanesi Göz Kliniği, İSTANBUL In a prospective study of 290 consecutive cataract operation, the prevalence of exfoliation, sex and age distribution in the phenomenon, glaucoma frequency and intraoperative problems were evaluated. The prevalence of exfoliation was 12.0% in the cataract cases and glaucoma was found in 9.4% of the patients. All the patients with exfoliation were over sixty years old, there was no significant difference in the sex distribution, the glaucoma frequency was 28.5 per cent of the cases. The glaucoma frequencies between the the exfoliation cases and the senile cataract patients were calculated to be significantly different (p<0.001) and the intraoperative problems in the exfoliation group were found to be higher in frequency (p<0.001).Keywords: Exfoliation, Intraoperative cataract surgery complications, Exfoliative glaucomaTurkiye Klinikleri Oftalmoloji 1997, 6:31-33
