The patients were examined at Immunology Lab. of Ankara University Med. School to investigate the role of immune system in the etiopathogenesis of CSCR. Total B, total T, helper T cells (CD4+), supressor T cells (CD8+), helper/supressor cell ratios and natural killer cells (NK) were evaluated quantatively by flow cytometry in plasmas of 16 patients with CSCR and 15 healthy controls. As a result there was no significant difference between patients and controls concerning the numbers of B, T cells, CD4+, CD8+ T cells, NK cells and CD4+/CD8+ ratios (p>0.05). According to these findings, immunologic aberrations in the CSCR which could have been one of the etiologic factors in the disease pathogenesis could not be proven. Keywords: Central serous chorioretinopathy, Immune systemTurkiye Klinikleri Oftalmoloji 1997, 6:272-274
