Ambliyopi Tedavisinde Cam Vision Stimülatörün Rolü

In this study, seventy-five amblyopic children who had been previously untreated were treated with CAM vision sti-mulator and minimal occlusion. Seventy-five patients were se-parated into two groups, 36 patients (group I) below seven years and 39 patients (group II) above seven years. Eighty-one percent of group I patients and fifty-six percent of group II patients achieved to visual improvement of at least two rows of letters on the Snellen chart. The difference between group I and group II was statistically significant (X2=3.96, DF=1, P=0.04). Finally, we have considered that there is critical period for amblyopia therapy and therefore, this period is significant for the restoration of good visual function.Keywords: Ambliyopia, CAM therapy, Critical periodTurkiye Klinikleri Oftalmoloji 1997, 6:162-164
