Levator Aponevroz Cerrahisi
Mehmet ÜNAL*
* Doç.Dr.Gazi Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hast. AD, ANKARA Levator aponeurosis surgery was performed in 74 eyes of 67 cases with congenital and acquired blepharoptosis. During this procedure only the levator aponeurosis was resected. The elevating and supporting structures of the eyelid such as the muscular levator, Müller’s muscle, levator horns and Whitnall’s ligament and the tear-producing structures such as meibomian glands, goblet cells and accessory lacrimal glands were preserved and not sacrificed. Preoperative calculations and intraoperative findings were considered when adjusting lid levels under general anesthesia. Patient cooperation was essential in adjusting eyelid height and contour in adults receiving local anesthesia. Full correction of the ptosis was accomplished in 85.1% of the cases. The application of new concepts have yielded more predictable results in ptosis surgery. Keywords: Congenital ptosis, Aponeurotic ptosis, Aponeurosis surgeryTurkiye Klinikleri Oftalmoloji 1997, 6:98-105
