Diabet Retinopatiye Eşlik Eden Glokomun Retinopatinin Progrestonuna Etkisi

The aim of this research was to detect the effect of glaucoma when it is together with diabetic retinopathy on the progression of retinopathy. Automated static threshold perimetry was the testing method in observation of the progression of diabetic retinopathy because of its sensitivity in detecting the early functional defects.
210 eyes of 105 patients were followed to detect how glaucoma effects the progression of retinopathy when it is together with diabetic retinopathy. The periodic visual field testings were performed to the patients who have diabetic retinopathy with or without glaucoma. Visual field defects were recorded in both groups in all tests.
We observed that the glaucoma when it is together with retinopathy, retarded the progression of diabetic retinopathy in all retinopathy levels.Keywords: Diabetic retinopathy, Glaucoma, Visual fieldTurkiye Klinikleri Oftalmoloji 1997, 6:128-135
