*Yrd.Doç.Dr.,Harran Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Göz Hastalıkları AD, ŞANLIURFA In this study it is aimed whether the intraocular pressure can be determined while the hydrogel contact lens which also can be used for therapeutic purposes is fitted on cornea. On the right eye of healthy informed consent subjects whom had no ocular and systemic disease we have determined the intraocular pressure with noncontact tonometer by obtaining three measurements from every eye before fitting the hydrogel contact lens (polymacon), 5 minutes after fitting and 5 minutes after removing it. The content of our study was 26 patients aged from 19 to 63 (mean 34±13.79). The mean intraocular pressure measurements were 13.87±5.35 mmHg before the contact lens fitting, 13.65±4.55 mmHg 5 minutes after the fitting and 13.40±5.01 5 minutes after being removed. When the obtained data was compared by the Student t test no statistically significance was found. During the therapy of a variety of cornea diseases with hydrogel contact lens, we concluded that; intraocular pressure follow-up could be achieved accurately with noncontact tonometer. Keywords: Hydrogel contact lens, Noncontact tonometer,
