* Yrd.Doç.Dr.,Harran Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, Göz Hastalıkları AD, In order to investigate the relationship of lens thickness with age and axial length, lens thickness and axial length values were identified by A-scan ultrasonographic biometry method in 185 eyes with no ocular and systemic pathology but refraction errors. Right eyes of 185 patients, 124 female and 61 male, mean age of 30.2±14.8, were included in this study. Mean lens thickness and axial length of the patients were measured as 3.99±0.50 mm and 23.41±1.81 mm, respectively. The mean lens thickness in 76 eyes with axial length <23.00 mm was 4.08±0.50 mm, while it was 3.97±0.55 mm in 58 eyes with axial length ranging between 23-24 mm, and 3.87±0.44 mm in 51 eyes with the axial length >24 mm. The mean lens thickness was determined as 3.97±0.52 and 4.76±0.16 mm in the first and seventh decades, respectively. When the relationship of lens thickness with age and the axial length of the eye was evaluated by one-way variance analysis, a statistically significant relation was determined (p<0.001). The findings of this study showed that the lens thickness decreased proportionally in eyes with longer axial length and increased in those with shorter axial length and that the size of lens increased throughout life. Keywords: Lens thickness, Aging,
