In 36 of 81 eyes, double continue, in 29 eyes seperated and in 16 eyes seperated crossed(butterfly shaped) suturing technics are used. The corneal astigmatisms are measured with keratometry and calculated with rectangular coordinates method together with routine ophthalmologic examination in the pre-op period and in the 1st,4th,8th,12th and16th weeks post-operatively.
As a result much lower astigmatism values are observed in the double continue suture eyes than in the eyes suture with the other two technic beginning with the post-operative 1st week until the post- operative 16th week when the study was terminated. Therefore it is seen that the double continue technic is the best one considering the post-operative astigmatism. Keywords: Posoperative astigmatism, PECCE+IOLTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 1998, 7:153-156
