The Effect Of Immunosuppression In The Heteroimmunizationcaused By The Lens Antigens

The objective of this preliminary study is to investigate the immunogenical response to heteroimmunization formed by lens antigens in rats. Ten female Wistar rats received 0.2 ml (1.5 mg/dl) bovine lens antigen (a and b crystallin) in incomplete Freund's adjuvant 5 times with 10 days among systemically according to a schedule. Half of the immunized rats were treated with 0.1 ml prednisolone (10 mg/kg). No statistically significant difference was found in the immunogloblin and protein values 10,20,40 and 50 days after immunization at any time (p>0.05).
