Dural Carotid - Cavernous Fistulas Affecting The Orbit

We present 5 cases with carotid-cavernous fistulas which occurred as a result of anomalous connection between the cavernous sinus and end branches of the internal and external carotid arteries supplying dura mater. We discuss the ocular findings that developed due to chronic ophthalmic vein stasis. In all cases, the presence of the fistula was only established by cerebral angiography. Three cases were treated by transvenous embollization and remaining two cases showed spontaneous regression.Keywords: Cevernous dural fistulas, Ophthalmic vein stasis,
