Eighteen primary hypothyroid patients diagnosed by clinical and laboratory findings and not using any medication which may affect thyroid hormone level were included in this study. IOP, CVF' mean deviation (MD) and corrected pattern standard deviation (CPSD) values detected in hypothyroid and euthyroid periods were compared. In euthyroid period there was a significant decrease in IOP (p:0.002). There was not a significant effect of thyroid replacement treatment on MD and CPSD (in turn p=0.16 and p=0.33) but mean values of MD and CPSD showed an improvement in euthyroid period. Normalization of the blood thyroid hormone level decreases the IOP.Keywords: Hypothyroid, Intraocular pressure,
