Among 14 patients evaluated in the study 6 patients were managed as inpatients while the other 8 stayed to be outpatients in treatment. All ulcers were treated with intensive topical therapy and all steadily healed as evidenced by intact epithelia and resolution of infiltrate. None progressed to extreme stromal thinning but one case formed descemetocele, none progressed to perforation. Inpatients and outpatients did not differ in terms of healing period although this can vary considerably for the same causative organism. Staph. epidermidis growth was determined in three, Staph. aureus in one and Pseud. aeruginosa in two inpatient cases, Staph. epidermidis growth was determined in four, Staph. aureus in three and Serratia liquifaciens in one outpatient cases. In all cases, the epithelialization took 3 days minimally and 32 days maximally. Four patients regained 10/10 final visual acuities while 3 outpatient and 3 inpatient cases showed visual acuity decreases. Keywords: Bacterial corneal ulcer,
