Periocular Hemangiomas

Göz Hastalıkları AD,**** Doç.Dr., Haydarpaşa Numune Hast Göz Kliniği, Şef Yrd., İSTANBUL Hemangiomas of the eyelids, orbit and conjunctiva were examined in 28 patients ranged in age at diagnosis from 1 months to 57 years (mean age 10.29). 20 were female and 8 were male with symptoms of epiphora, reddish purple mass, proptosis, pain and fainting.
Cases were followed for 0.1 to 5 years, mean 0.7 years. 3 cases were operated whose hystopathologic diagnosis were cavernous hemangioma. The infantile adnexal hemangiomas were first detected by the family at birth to 36 months with a mean age of 2.45 months. Intralesional corticosteroid 1.0 ml. of 40 mg/ml, methyl prednisolone were injected to 6 infants.
Remaining 19 cases were followed by clinical and radiological examinations.Keywords: Periocular Hemangiomas,
