A Genetic Research In The Patients With Acute Anterior Uveitis:sister Chromatid Exchange Analysis

Although immunological and inflammatory factors are thought to play a part in the pathogenesis of the acute anterior uveitis, its real etiology is unknown. The most frequent diagnosis made in patients with anterior segment inflammation is idiopathic acute anterior uveitis. Sister chromatid exchange analysis has been performed on the peripheral lymphocytes from the patients with idiopathic types of acute anterior uveitis in order to explore the genomic instability and DNA damage related to this disease. Twentyfour patients with idiopathic acute anterior uveitis have been compared with 20 healthy persons assumed as control group. No significant difference was observed between those patients with idiopathic type of acute anterior uveitis and control group (P>0.05).
Idiopathic acute anterior uveitis may not have more genetic basis than acute anterior uveitis with systemic diseases.Keywords: Sister chromatid exchange,
