Göz Kliniği, Şef, ANKARA This study was planned to evaluate the role of functional scoring of binocular visual field on the diagnosis and follow up of patients with diplopia. Binocular single field of vision was measured in fourteen patients with diplopia by using III-4e target on Goldmann perimetry and all fields were scored functionally. Objective and subjective results were compared each other. Diplopia was due to acute 6th nerve paralysis in 7patients, chronic 6th nerve paralysis in 4 patients and acute 3rd nerve paralysis in one patient. Diplopia had developed after cataract surgery in one patient and increasing uremic toxins in another. Functionally scoring of binocular single visual field was used at diagnosis, follow up and evaluation after treatment of patients with diplopia. İt was found that functional scoring of binocular single field of vision was effective and reliable for diagnosis and follow up of patients with diplopia. Keywords: Binocular single field of vision, diplopiaTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2000, 9:9-16
