From May 1995 to May 1999, the disposable soft contact lenses were fitted into 45 eyes of 40 patients who suffered from various corneal diseases. The contact lens wearing duration of 40 patients, who were 18 females and 22 males, in ages between 5-78 (mean 50.12±19.06), varied between 5-280 days (mean 87.50) and all of them were followed for 3 months to 3 years (mean 9.19 months). A relief of symptoms in 37 eyes (82.22%), improvement in the corneal findings in 24 eyes (53.33%) and visual acuity increase in 24 eyes (53.33%) were observed. As for the complications, there was some protein depositions on two contact lenses (4.44%), 8 contact lenses were lost (17.77%), intolerance to contact lens in 2 eyes (4.44%), conjunctivitis in 2 eyes (4.44%) and peripheral corneal neovascularizations in one eye (2.22%). Disposable soft contact lenses may safely be applied for therapeutic purposes, as they are cheaper than the standard therapeutic contact lenses and worn by patients confortable. Keywords: Corneal diseases,
