Surgical Results In Levator Aponeurosis Tuckingin Cases With Congenital Ptosis

Göz Kliniği, İSTANBUL Purpose: A retrospective study was carried out to assess the success of the aponeurosis tucking procedure for the management of blepharoptosis, in Fırat University Medical Center, Department of Ophthalmology and Elazığ Military Hospital Eye Service.
Materials and Methods: Levator aponeurosis tucking surgery was performed to 12 eyelids of 12 patients. All the patients except one - a 11 years old boy- were operated under local anesthesia.
Result: In 12 eyes this procedure allowed complete repair, while in 5 eyes of the 5 patients, adequate repair were observed. None of these 5 patients requested a second operation as we did.
Conclusion: We conclude that levator aponeurosis tucking procedure is simple and effective technique in ptosis repair.Keywords: Blepharoptosis,
