* Dr., S.S.K. Göz Eğitim Hastanesi, 1. Göz Kliniği, ANKARA Purpose: To report two cases who developed Diffuse Lamellar Keratitis (DLK) following laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). Materials and Methods: We observed 2 cases among the initial 68 LASIK procedures performed in five months by one surgeon (ÖÖU) at a newly developed laser vision correction center. Results: All cases were successfully treated with topical corticosteroids, and none had loss of best-corrected visual acuity. Conclusion: DLK is a condition that can lead to severe complications such as stromal melt when diagnosed late or treated inadequately. All surgeons performing laser refractive surgical procedures should be aware of this complication and its optimal treatment. Keywords: Diffuse lamellar keratitis, Sands of the Sahara syndrome, Diffuse intralamellar keratitis, Post-LASIK interface keratitis, Nonspecific diffuse intralamellar keratitis, LASIK, Laser in situ keratomileusisTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2002, 11:163-166
