Göz Kliniği Şefi, ANKARA We aim to present the long-term outcomes of the effect of nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy in an idiopathic, secondary open angle glaucoma with dilated episcleral veins and traumatic glaucoma, in two cases.
Deep sclerectomy without implantation operation was performed to two patients.
The follow up period was 18 moths with first patient and 12 months with second. Phacoemulsification+intraocular lens implantation was performed with the second patient for traumatic cataract at 6th month. Intraocular pressure was under control during follow up period with both cases.
Deep sclerectomy may be preferred as an effective and safe surgical technique at particular glaucoma cases that, anterior chamber penetrations increase the complication risks. Keywords: Dilated episcleral veins, Glaucoma, Nonpenetrating deep sclerectomy, Colour Doppler
