The Results Of Concomitant Horizontal Strabismus Surgery With Adjustable Suture Technique

Material and Methods: In this study, strabismus surgery was performed at two muscles in 20 patients and one muscle in 3 patients. Merely adjustable suture was used in 17 patients whereas stable sutur technique was carried out another muscle in 6 patients.
Results: There were 12 women (aged 15?49, 11 men (aged 10?50) in this study. Four esotropia and 19 exotropia were found in the patients who had underwent adjustable suture surgery. It was first operation for 14 patients and reoperation for 9 patients. Adjustment was performed post operatively 73.9% percent in the patients. There was statistically difference between the deviations degree pre operatively, pre adjustment and post adjustment in all patients (p<0.05).
Conclusion: Adjustable suture technique can be carried out successfully in carefully and cooperable patients, who have concomitant strabismus.Keywords: Adjustable suture technique, Concomitant strabismus, Strabismus surgery
