Material and Methods: We compare the stereoacuity values of the 90 cases with primary open-angle glaucoma whose mean age was 54.4 year ( 35-71 years, ± 7.1 ) and 90 cases in the control group who had no ocular problem other than refractive error, whose mean age was 54.7 year ( 36-72 years, ± 5.9 ).
Results: Visual acuity values in POAG cases were 0.7 in 16 eyes (8.9%) , 0.8 in 62 eyes (34.4%), 0.9 in 63 eyes (35% ) and 1.0 in 39 eyes (21.7%); while in control cases, 0.8 in 44 eyes (24.4%), 0.9 in 61 eyes (33.9%) and 1.0 in 75 eyes (41.7% ). The mean of the stereoacuity values in the POAG group was 254 arc/second (40-800 arc/second ±172.2). The mean of the stereoacuity val-ues in the control group was 145.3 arc/second (40-400 arc/second ±103.9) The difference was found to be significant statistically.
Conclusion: Stereopsis in cases with primary open-angle glaucoma was found to be worse than the control group. Keywords: Primary open-angle glaucoma, stereopsisTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2005, 14:36-39
