Material and Methods: Sixty eyes of 30 POAG patients receiving betaxolol (Group 1) and 50 eyes of 25 POAG patients receiving betaxolol and pilocarpine (Group 2) were compared with 60 eyes of 30 healthy normal cases according to peak systolic velocity (PSV), end-diastolic velocity (EDV) and resistivity index (RI) of central retinal artery (CRA), ophthalmic artery (OA), and posterior ciliary artery (PCA).
Results: It was determined that statistically significant decrease PSV and EDV, and increase RI of CRA, OA, and PCA, in patients with POAG, meanwhile, it was more significant in group 2 compared with control group.
Conclusion: A significant decrease in ocular blood flow velocity and significant increase in RI were determined in POAG patients. Keywords: Primary open angle glaucoma, color doppler ultrasonographyTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2005, 14:25-30
