aGöz Hastalıkları AD, Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi, İSTANBUL Four cases with carotico-cavernous (CCF) ages ranging from 17 to 52 were presented with their previous diagnosis, clinical progresses and treatment strategies.
All cases had chronic complaints ranging from 1 month to 24 months. All cases presented first with ophthalmological symptoms. The most important and common complaint was prominance and increased curvature of conjunctival vessels. Two cases were previously diagnosed as paralytic strabismus, 1 as Grave’s ophthalmopathy and 1 as chronic conjunctivitis. CCF’s were travmatik in 2 and spontaneous in 2 cases and also high flow in 2 and low flow in 2 cases. We should keep in mind the diagnosis of CCF in cases who are presenting dominantly with ophthalmological symptoms. Keywords: Carotid-cavernous sinus fistula, case reports [publication type], clinical protocolsTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2006, 15:110-114
