Ocular Involvement In Two Brothers With Cystinosis

Cystinosis is an autosomal recessive disease characterized by cysteine deposition in kidneys, thyroid gland, reticuloendothelial system, and eyes; especially in conjunctiva and cornea. We here reported 2 brothers who are 8 and 6 years old age with ocular involvement. In the ophthalmic examination we observed diffuse corneal cysteine crystall deposition in the corneas of both brothers. Despite ocular involvement little brother did not have any ocular complaints. We administered topical cysteamine drops additional to systemic cysteamine treatment.
