aGöz Hastalıkları Kliniği, Göztepe Eğitim ve Araştırma Hastanesi, İSTANBUL Embolization is the most common cause of retinal branch artery occlusion. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings in acute branch retinal artery occlusion demonstrate increased reflectivity and thickness of the inner retina, and decreased reflectivity in the outer retina and retinal pigment epithelium-choriocapillaris layer. This OCT findings will be helpful for the diagnosis and following of the patients which have branch retinal artery occlusion and could not be applied fluorescein angiography (FA) because of the side effects.
In this study we describe the etiology and acute phase OCT findings of two cases with branch retinal artery occlusion. Keywords: Tomography, optical coherence; retinal artery occlusionTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2007, 16:282-284
