A small, round shaped scleral perforation with vitreous incarceration in the wound could be seen. Eye bottom examination revealed a chorioretinal tear at location 6:30 and premacular hemorrhage in the vitreous. Uncorrected visual acuity was 0.2. The patient was operated under retrobulbar anesthesia. Cryopexy was applied around the perforation site. Due to retinal hemorrhage, a partial Argon laser photocoagulation was applied around the retinal tear. Two weeks later uncorrected visual acuity increased to 1.0. The remaining laser photocoagulation was completed 6 weeks later when retinal hemorrhage was resorbed completely. Two months later, retinal pigmentation was seen around the chorioretinal perforation. uncorrected visual acuity was 1.0. As in this case, some scleral and chorioretinal perforation cases with vitreous incarceration in the wound can be treated by the combination of surgical reparation of the perforation and Argon laser photocoagulation around the chorioretinal tear. Keywords: Eye injuries, penetrating; light coagulationTurkiye Klinikleri J Ophthalmol 2007, 16:285-288
